Making a Difference On Purpose
Do you feel like an outsider when it comes to lawmaking and politics? There's no easier way to get inside than to volunteer. Volunteers learn how laws are made and how to use that information to build their political futures and help their communities.
Volunteer in Visitor Services
We are recruiting for legislative session 2025!
Providing non-partisan assistance, volunteers help at the information kiosk, in the store, at special events and during session as chamber ushers in the galleries. Volunteers provide guided tours including information about the legislative process. Click here to fill out the application.
Volunteer to be a Page
Students can become honorary pages for the House or Senate. Pages deliver correspondence and legislative material to officials in the building during legislative sessions.
Volunteer for a Senator or Representative
Learn more about the day-to-day activities of lawmakers by becoming a legislative intern. Each state senator and representative has their own requirements for taking on volunteers — contact their offices today.

Volunteer for a Campaign
Candidates and causes gather short-term volunteers to make phone calls, distribute materials, and canvass door-to-door to talk with supporters. Campaigns and candidates generally have a website with contact information.

Circulate an Initiative
Citizen initiatives often need volunteers to gather signatures. If you're passionate about a specific cause, this is great way to get out the word.
