Special Engagements
Capitol History Gateway program brings Oregon’s history to life through events and exhibits.
Events feature our great state, the people that make Oregon their home and the building – its history and the democratic process that takes place here. The Capitol History Gateway offers award-winning programing, designed to highlight the contributions of individuals and communities from throughout Oregon. Explore online exhibits featuring heritage sites from throughout the state and start planning your next adventure. If you are visiting the Capitol, explore a new exhibit located on the first floor just inside the State Street entrance, featuring the Capitol Accessibility, Maintenance and Safety Project which includes history about the Capitol.
When you see the CHG logo on a sign, brochure, exhibit, or this website, it means that it was produced using funds from a program designated by the legislature in 2011. The program is funded by the sale of the Pacific Wonderland license plates, administered through the Oregon State Capitol Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Event and exhibit programming is also produced with the help of in-kind generosity of more than 100 unique partners that contribute their time, effort and financial support.
